Where Can You Find Free People?

Free People has six locations between Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Maine has a Free People store on Middle Street in Portland. There’s one in Salem, New Hampshire, two in Burlington, Massachusetts, and two in Boston. As of this writing, it isn’t clear which of these stores will be selling L.L. Bean products.

Is This Partnership Redundant for New England?

My take on this partnership is that it’s not for those in New England and especially not for those who live in Maine for a few reasons.

The first is that there’s only one Free People in Maine and it’s in downtown Portland where parking is hard to find and expensive. L.L. Bean is just a short trip on I-295 from Portland and you can shop for everything L.L. Bean offers. The same goes for New Hampshire. There are six L.L. Bean outlets in New Hampshire and one Free People.

This seems squarely aimed at Free People locations that are not so close to L.L. Bean’s flagship store or many factory outlets. This is aimed at customers who want to go into a physical store to shop for L.L. Bean products and that’s not a bad thing.
