DERBY, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) – Both unranked girls and boys Hutchinson Salthawks finish with the underdog win of the season, as both take down No.1 ranked Derby.

Starting with the girls game, Hutch was in control for most of the game. Going into the half with a four point lead and starting the second half with an 8-0 run, lead by Kaia Smith and Grace Posch, they managed to hang on when Derby fought back, for the 58-54 win over the panthers. This win is the first win over Derby that Hutch has had since the 2014-1015 season.

Onto the boys game, it was more of the same. Hutch came out strong but were down to start the second half. Fourth quarter they gained a rhythm and control over the Panthers and Terrell King helped lead his Salthawks to take the 67-63 win over Derby.
