The recently revamped Pondi’s new sister restaurant, Shop B was born out of owner and operators Chef George Kwok and Natalie Ngan’s love of dai pai dong. We’re loving the retro vibes at this new Chiu Chow eatery in Central Market. Think vintage movie posters, neon-lit signage, rooster bowls and large round tables. LUBUDS Group’s Executive Chef Ronald Shao has partnered with native Chiu Chow chefs to bring you delicacies from the region, including marinated goose platters, oyster pancakes, pickled vegetables and plenty of chilled beer. Clink your drinking bowls and enjoy the flavours and ambience of an old daa laang-style open air food stall.

Another recent LUBUDS Group opening spearheaded by Chef Shao, YUAN focuses on Chinese vegetarian cuisine – but not as you know it. Expect modern fine dining interpretations of traditional Chinese dishes dreamed up by Chef Shao together with new-generation Head Chef Law Chak Kei. The nature-centric, allium-free tasting menus feature highlights such as the The Emerald Plate, a classic Sichuan cold dish that was notably a favourite of the late Empress Dowager Cixi, and the 9 Sweet Grid (pictured above), which comprises three marinated fresh fruits, three Chinese pastries, and three Western desserts in cube-shaped morsels.

New to Causeway Bay, Teppanyaki Mihara Goten is the brainchild of renowned Chef Terufumi Mihara, conceived to realise his vision to fuse kappo cuisine with the art of teppan cooking. Must-try items on the menu include the Grilled King Crab Crepe, Broiled Ezo Abalone with Hokkaido Sea Urchin and A5 Kumamoto Wagyu Beef Tenderloin. Flat Iron Steak Pop-Up

This Flat Iron Steak pop-up stars, you guessed it, the flat iron cut, also known as the oyster blade cut, starting at an astonishing $150 for a 7oz steak and a side of fries or salad for lunch. We recommend dressing your steak with one of the house-made sauces and a glass of wine (which will only set you back $45!). The exclusive pop-ups will appear at Macelle in Soho and Steak King’s Tseung Kwan O post, available from October 16 until the end of the year.
