When Rihanna steps out for dinner or a party, you can always count on the superstar to deliver a look that’s all about the juxtaposition. She is not the type of star to pull a look from the runway and simply wear it exactly as it was first shown: Rih takes a more eclectic approach to styling, often fusing high-low elements for an always more interesting end result. An opera coat with ripped jeans? Sure! A black tie gown with a sporty bomber coat? Fuzzy hats for every occasion? Nothing is off limits—and she has the impressive ability to pull off even the most unexpected of pairings.
Case in point: Last night (March 16), Rihanna was spotted at Rolling Loud in L.A. wearing a contrasting combo. The star wore a sporty oversized nylon bomber coat with a high-slit lace skirt, combining elements of day and evening wear. As usual, she was also sure to finish off the look with tons of diamonds—including a shimmering necklace, and even a subtle anklet, too. The regular person’s first instincts wouldn’t be to pair a utilitarian jacket with a dainty and sheer skirt, but Rihanna proves that—sometimes—opposites attract.
