Paris will forever be one of the fashion capitals, the birthplace of timeless trends and powerhouse designers. This upcoming summer, the City of Lights will be covered with a different backdrop as fashion critics face a global runway of diverse cultures—because the Olympics have arrived in the European home. The Olympic Games will start in just two days and will continue until August 11, featuring many countries, including the Israeli delegation, which has already chosen its uniforms this year in collaboration with Terminal X designers, focusing on tie-dye. Other delegations opted for details that incorporate cultural heritage symbols, art, and innovative materials that promise both comfort and sustainability. The Olympic uniforms of each country present an opportunity to put themselves on the global fashion map.
So we zoomed in on six Olympic uniforms (excluding Israel) that have managed to best balance style, symbols, traditional national colors, sports trends, and, of course, haute couture.

The attire pays homage to Mongolian culture, with silhouettes inspired by the traditional Mongolian flag, tunics, an ivory ensemble featuring puffed sleeves, pleated skirts, and an embroidered vest. Additional nods to Mongolian national symbols can be found in the intricate gold embroidery of the vest, depicting the moon, sun, and goa-marl. According to the fashion house responsible for the design, the production of each set took dozens of hours—not surprising given the level of intricate details.

The brand responsible for the design also incorporated ethnic artwork—Paul Fleming’s “Walking Together” is printed on the scarf, while another piece by artist David Bosun appears in the pocket square.
