Is it even Fashion Week if a nepo baby doesn’t make their runway debut? Certainly not. This Paris Fashion Week, Kai Schreiber, the 16-year-old daughter of Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, carried the nepotism torch at Valentino. And you know what? She rocked it.
Schreiber walked the red runway (at a venue with models waiting in bathroom stalls, reportedly inspired by filmmaker David Lynch’s work) in white floral tights, peep-toe heels, a leopard-print coat adorned with a feathered collar, and a large, beige lacy headband. TikTok creator and former model Lyas caught up with her backstage. “It was so much fun,” the model, who’s signed to IMG, said. “I am a dancer, so when I got on the runway and started hearing Lana Del Rey, they had to tell me to calm down a bit.” This is the second Valentino show from former Gucci designer Alessandro Michele.
The newly minted fashion darling follows a long line of nepo models to take on major runways: Kaia Gerber, Lila Moss, Amelia Gray, and Kendall Jenner all come to mind. Listen, being a nepo baby gets a bad rap, but trust and believe, if I could nepo baby, I would certainly nepo baby. Hats off to those who can.
