Missouri “Normal” Fashion Spreads Show-Me Style Across the Land

When I was younger, trying to find my own style instead of just wearing what mom would buy, I clearly remember her asking “Can’t you wear anything normal?” I’m sure my response was something like “C’mon Mom…”. Turns out I wasn’t alone.

Not in the sense that my mom questioned what other young people were wearing…I mean, she was, but other moms and dads were too. Perhaps that’s just a phase of life for both the parent and child. This memory is brought to mind as a group of brothers from St. Louis have developed a clothing brand called “Normal”, and in just a few years they have branched out to include locations in six states,(Missouri, Indiana, Tennessee, Alabama, Colorado and Minnesota) and made available in hundreds of stores nationwide.

They plainly state they aren’t designers. They just make clothes. A quick perusal through their products shows a classic, clean outdoor/sporty leaning style, and they don’t lean away from work style clothes. Pure Midwest for sure, but “Normal” enough to appeal to most anyone anywhere.

Jimmy, Lan and Conrad are three of the Sansone brothers at the front of the “Normal Brand” and are from St. Louis. (And because you must know, they went to Chaminade and SLUH) The Sansone’s provide clothing staples that can be part of your look and style for years. It’s a smart business plan, and a smart way to build your wardrobe too. Not flashy or seeking and embracing a momentary fad, but solid fashion formed from Midwestern sensibilities.

It’s been ten years since the guys started this venture in their parent’s basement. It’s definitely a family venture. They have a big family that’s growing. The business is growing too.
