“We have been using our preseason in preparation for league play in regard to scheduling, personnel and scheme,” ELITE High head coach Emanual Daugherty II said. “We have been watching more film and have taken an objective approach that has been very beneficial to the players as well as coaches.”
The coach said that a shakeup and refocusing on coaching has led to six special teams touchdowns the last two weeks. He’s also proud of the offense, but more than anything he’s thrilled with the way the team is hitting the books as well as other team’s pads.
“We’ve have been practicing and perfecting a package that has bolstered our run game while still allowing us to throw the ball as we like to do as a spread-based team,” the coach said. “Going forward we are going to perfect all three phases of the game streamlining our scheme while still remaining unpredictable.
“The goal for this season is a championship banner as a unit and a family,” the coach continued. “Anything less is unacceptable. To achieve this, our student athletes must remain healthy and eligible. To achieve this we have been enforcing study hall. This has not only kept our entire team intact, it has been a galvanizing factor.”
