Chai pe Charcha with BrandWagon – Brand Wagon News

Weekends are all about downtime. After a week full of work to meet deadlines, everybody needs some breather to relax and recuperate. From watching a favourite web series to planning a vacation, weekends are designated as family and me time. Tamer Kadry ,country general manager, Mars Wrigley India, talks to BrandWagon Online about his weekends, favourite vacation destination and more.

What is the one thing you like to do when not working?

At leisure, I like spending time with my family, reading, and travelling. Being an avid fitness enthusiast, I sustain an active lifestyle and devote time every morning to a fitness ritual. With my current assignment as Country General Manager for Mars Wrigley India, I spend a good number of hours with my team here, which is a very good opportunity for a person like me who is new to India. What better way to understand Indian culture than exploring its diverse cuisine and connecting with people? These allow me to understand and appreciate incredible India and immerse myself in its rich heritage.

How do you spend your weekends?

With this assignment in India, I now have to divide my time between Dubai and India. When I am here, I like to spend time doing a mix of activities which includes reading, going on market visits to get a sense of consumers’ behaviour, trends and needs, and most importantly, I indulge in rituals that help me to balance, recharge and re-energise for the week ahead. When I am at home in Dubai, I spend as much time as possible with my family.

What are your favourite gadgets?

It’s a tough pick as I am a fan of the latest tech offerings in the industry. That being said, I am thoroughly enjoying my Apple Watch Ultra, which has some amazing features and keeps a check on my health and energy profile.

Given an option to choose another career, what would it be?

I am very grateful for the work that I am doing at Mars Wrigley India. However, if I were to go back and choose another career it would be ‘Teaching’. The purpose that it serves of shaping young minds who are the future of tomorrow has always been very close to my heart.

Which is your favourite vacation spot?

My favourite place to visit in the world is Red Sea, Egypt as it is a place that seems right out of a Sci-Fi movie. The waves crashing into the sandy shores is a breathtaking sight. I have been going there since I was a kid, yet it gives a surreal feeling every time I am there.

A TV show, a movie, and an ad campaign you highly recommend watching

My all time favourite movie is ‘Top Gun’, and favourite campaign has to be SNICKERS’ “You are not you when you are hungry” and the recent one that we launched this cricket season – SNICKERS  Noobie mistakes campaign.
