I’ve mentioned it here before, but when I don’t know what to wear (*cough* always summer) or am feeling in a creative rut, I go to Anthropologie and do a try-on. Yep, you know why. Anthro’s stores themselves are so inspiring, not to mention the clothes, jewelry, shoes, etc.,
This artist-type needs inspo regularly–hence my regular travels–but if I can’t get away, I can at least feel like it when I head into an Anthro store. I peeked at their website last week and was blown away by some new fall arrivals on Anthropologie’s site, so I had a hunch I’d find some stuff to get me out of the August slump…and I was right!
New Fall Arrivals At Anthropologie: Dressing Room Selfies
I think we’ve all hinted to this here, but late summer is a tough time to find inspiration when getting dressed. Year after year, this is the almost exciting time of the year, but it’s not fall yet and it’s still pretty dang hot everywhere. I’m a layers person when it comes to fashion. Jackets are my jam…boots, jeans, button-downs…those pieces show my style the most and those things are not really for August.
But, I think I came across some really fun transitional outfit combos during this Anthropologie try-on. Think pants with cool shapes and details, a breezy tee that still feels summery but goes with all the pants, a cute mini dress that shines with an ivory swing jacket, leopard and yes, the Gola X Anthropologie collab (so fun.) So while I didn’t actually try anything on from my inspo pictures, I was totes inspired by many things I can wear right now. Let’s take a look.
Soft Paige Jeans FTW
Tee (M) | Jeans (28) | Similar Boots (or these)
I’ve been so particular about the jeans I actually want to put on my body lately, but these Paige Anessa High Rise Wide Leg were a joy to put on. If I didn’t already own black jeans (like soooo many) I would have brought these home immediately. I’m still thinking about them.
They’re soft and stretchy and the fit is great. The front patch pockets feel updated and i love the wash. Gah. Definitely talking myself into them. LOL. They run a little large. They didn’t have my regular 29 but the 28 fit great.
These Pull-on Barrel Pants
Similar Tee (M) | Pants (MP) | Similar Boots (or these)
Ok, the shape of these Pilcro Relaxed Izzie Pants is so good. Black seems to be sold out right now, but lots of other options are available in quite a few size ranges, too. I’ll keep an eye out for restocks of black, but they’d be phenomenal in any shade. A slight barrel shape that’s not overdone is my favorite type of barrel pant because I know they won’t go out of style.
The Raddest Olive Green Trouser Jeans
Jacket (M) | Tee (M) | Pants (8) | Similar Boots (or these)
Ok friends me and pleats like never get along, but then I tried these Maeve wide leg pants on and yeahhhh. LOVE. Not only are the pleats fun and they work here but the pants also fit my shorter-waisted self so well. The fabric is a soft brushed cotton and the vibe is just overall killer, y’all. Freaking yes. I was so happy with this find. They definitely came home. Size up if between sizes, but otherwise TTS.
Side note on the leopard bomber: I really wanted to love it, but I think I need to go with a Small…or a Large. I didn’t like it in my true size that much. But honestly the satin lining was not my fav anyway. It’s a peachy pink, but mostly it just feels cheap. The rest of the jacket felt great quality though. I was confused. I want to find a different similar option though!
Tee (M) | Pants (8) | Similar Boots (or these) | Hat
Reclaiming red hats here. But how amazingly cool does it look with a graphic tee and olive trousers. I LOVE. It looks more faded red online though which I actually wish it were IRL. Gonna find one.
This Ivory Swing Jacket
Jacket (M) | Dress (M) | Similar Boots (or these)
Oh, hiiii cute jacket. Gimme. Yep, took this Maeve Swing Jacket home, too. LOVE it with this sweater dress and I rarely love a mini dress on me. This combo is so fun and cute and felt like fall but could easily be worn right now. I definitely like the sweater dress most with the jacket on but if you click through it’s a cute shape and great construction on its own. Size up if between. Very well-made and in other prints.
Jacket (M) | Similar Tee (M) | Pants (MP) | Similar Boots (or these)
Oh and here’s the dress without the jacket. It’ll be cute with knee boots later, too!
Jacket (M) | Dress (M) | Similar Boots (or these)
OBVS I Love This Sundry Graphic Tee
Tee (M) | Pants (M, hemmed) | Sneakers | Hat
I mean, yeah I liked this shirt. LOL. Who am I if I’m not wearing a graphic tee 80% of the time, honestly. This one is perfect for right now…breezy and pretty faded colors and the right length. I’ve been loving it and you can see it also came home.
Gola X Anthropologie Pullover Windbreaker
Windbreaker (M) | Jeans (28)
This is a little bonus item that I am still thinking about even though I left it at Anthropologie. It’s so freaking fun. It felt great on, feels well-made and is such a rad collab, Gola X Anthro.
Windbreaker (M) | Jeans (28)
Gola X Anthropologie Sweatpants
Similar Tee (M) | Sweatshirt (M) | Sweatpants (M) | Similar Boots (or these)
Since I really didn’t need to buy a whole new wardrobe at anthro, I stopped myself from bringing these sweats home, but I love them. They have cool seam details and the shape is really cool, too. They’re comfy and soft, have the right drape and aren’t too thick or too thin. TTS and awesome.
Sweatshirt (M) | Sweatpants (M) | Similar Boots (or these)
The floral sweatshirt is adorable, too. I think I would size up in it though for more of a statement/slouchy look. So soft and good for a hoodie though! I only had my boots with me and I’m not into bare feet + outfit pics, but um am I weird for digging them with sweatpants now? LOL. Especially in the first look?
Last But Not Least, A Metallic Tee
I think this tee will be so cute for a little pop of bling under jackets for fall and paired with the sporty pieces I love, too. I should have popped it on under the leopard jacket. Then, it’ll obviously be great with trousers or skirts for the holiday months. Love the drape and it’s not scratchy.
