On a calm Saturday night in Paris, Stefano Gallici went full punk for Ann Demeulemeester Fall/Winter 2025. The brand’s grunge signatures returned to the runway for a deeply personal tribute to rugged explorers.

The pitch-black venue was lined with simple wooden seats adorned with the brand’s seasonal “Wall of References” booklet. As the showcase commenced, C.O.T.A. by The Cult boomed over the loudspeakers and flooded the room with pure rock ‘n roll energy. Ann Demeulemeester asks you to wander around for FW25, looking to reinvent itself in unknown landscapes. Wanting to create garments with a life of their own, the brand presented 36 looks that were rough around the edges. From dramatized layering to fraying excess, the collection was rebuilt into a profoundly personal wardrobe.

Ruffled fabrics were melded together to create miniature dresses with lace trimmings, accompanied by fringed boots and wrapped headbands. Inflated sleeves transformed traditional shirting into something new, accompanied by vintage-style vests and uneven top hats. Elsewhere, shredded knitwear and pointed blazers gave off an edgy feel, while sleeveless coats, shearling outerwear, and deconstructed graphic tees were made for rebellious individuals.
